The Teddies are for hospital staff to, at their discretion, give to children to alleviate their distress whilst awaiting treatment. They are also used on occasions for staff to demonstrate to the children the treatment they are to receive. The Teddies are for the children to keep and take home. The scheme is much appreciated by children, their parents and hospital staff and shows that Sussex Freemasons are caring Freemasons. The TLC scheme was prominently displayed on the Sussex Freemasons stand at the South of England Show at Ardingly this year and attracted much acclaim. The First Aid Posts manned by St. Johns Ambulance and the Red Cross were supplied with Teddies in case they should be needed. The scheme in Sussex continues to be enthusiastically supported by its Lodges through donations, proceeds of raffles, and from sales of lapel badges and key fobs.
