Freemasons Give Almost £2M To National Charities

A General Meeting of the Grand Charity has approved grants totalling nearly £2 million to seventeen national charities.  Beneficiaries include the Scout Association (£1/2 million over five years) and Ovarian Cancer Action’s research and awareness work (£1 million over five years).  The meeting also heard that, following Cyclone Nargis, ongoing relief work in Myanmar (Burma) is to be supported through a grant of £15,000 to the District Grand Lodge of Eastern Archipelago.

Emergency Grants for Flooding and Hurricane Victims
The President of the Grand Charity  has approved two separate emergency grants to support the hundreds of people affected by the recent flooding in Morpeth, Northumberland and the victims of Hurricane Ike in the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Bahamas.

Unwanted Wool Appeal

The wife of one of our members recently underwent eye surgery. Unfortunately, this was not successful and in fact left her virtually blind.  Her Occupational Therapy is to crotchet coloured squares , make them up into blankets and give them to various Charities. Can you help?
